April 9th, 2017 -- Riverside Park

Started the day at Lagoon Greenway and quickly realized that our GPS signal was entirely too weak in this area. After spending half an hour searching for a medium sized container, we made the decision to come back another day. Michelle (xomoomooxo87) and I both discovered geocaching last year, but our schedules never allowed for us to explore together. Being so hyped, we wanted to power through the afternoon and find as many caches as we possibly could. Off to Riverside Park it was! I was happy to show Michelle around some of the spots I have previously discovered. She has quite the eye and we had a blast. All that's left in the park is a damned tree climb. So, if anyone wants to climb - you're welcome to join! Started a list of climbs to be conquered. Not too sure when I foresee myself in a tree without a ladder.

Although I have been known as astrotrash for over a decade, I decided that astrotrashwanders is entirely too long. This travelogue has been renamed astr0trash.blogspot.com!  My apologies for any confusion or broken links.

Stephanie's First Caches!

Dare I explain how excited I am to introduce my good friends into geocaching?! Stephanie quickly learned my enthusiasm as we discussed the in's and out's of caching over lunch. Now, what better way is there to spend a gorgeous winter day in Florida than to poke around for caches by the river? Oh.. right a muggle-free afternoon by the river! Had forgotten about an outdoor art show at Riverside Park, so we had to compromise our game plan a bit. Nonetheless, we had a wonderful afternoon and certainly made plans to show her some trails a bit further south in Ft. Pierce.

Unfortunately, I have been slacking hard this month. I have a few trackables that need to move along and a goal to find 24 caches within 24 hours.

Starting off 2017 with Geocaching

First cache of 2017!
Ft. Pierce, Florida

Quite obviously I ringed in the new year with a trecherous hangover, and never did get around to snagging a few finds. Decided that I'd start off the year proper today and explore a few locations nearby. Swapped out some trackables at a nearby TB Hotel and discovered a 24 Caches In 24 Hours Achievement proxy geocoin. Of course I retrieved it with intentions of earning this achievement myself! I have already mapped out Sunday's course of events. Thanks for the motivation!

Geocaching Goals 2017
  • 24 Caches in 24 Hours
  • 31 Days of Caching (August)
  • Visit Tennesse
  • Power trail

Dallas, Texas

Let me tell y'all about 20° weather in Dallas, Texas - December 9th-11th. Spent a mere weekend with my ever so lovely, Ashley, but I am certainly planning on visiting again in the near future. What an incredible experience of winter! As I was frolicking about in 40° afternoon highs, I wish that I could have spent an entire day geocaching. Definitely got my thrill of exploring for the day at Dallas World Aquarium where I met a sloth (this is real life).

Introduction. |

Salutations, I am Lyndsey; I happen to be 28 years old and living on the treasure coast of Florida. Currently, I am accomplishing a bachelors degree in Biology/Environmental Science. Within the past year, I was introduce to Geocaching and I absolutely became captivated! Now that I've learned the ropes, it's about time I start documenting my explorations.
